GayOutdoors Season Ending Party — A Night to Remember!
November 15, 2025 | Club Café, Boston, MA Presented by GayOutdoors – New England’s Premier Gay & Gay-Friendly Men’s Outdoor Club
Our 2025 summer season came to a joyful close with an evening of laughter, connection, and reflection at Boston’s Club Café. Over 70 GayOutdoors members and friends gathered to celebrate another year of hiking, biking, history/garden tours, pride events, hiking vacations, backpacking, swim excursions, overnight hut trips, and countless adventures shared in the wild.
A Celebration of Community
Guests were welcomed with friendly name tags and smiles, as servers passed around trays of delicious hors d’oeuvres — Hummus with Crudité, Chicken Kebob with green peppers, Mini Stuffed Potato Skins, Crab Rangoon’s and Mini Pizza Quiche Assortment, and more! The bar buzzed with chatter as old friends reconnected and new members introduced themselves, all bonded by a shared love for the outdoors.
Club Updates & Raffle Fun
GO President Carl Baker gave an update on the year’s accomplishments and what’s ahead for 2026. We truly would not exist without the continuing financial support of our community, the volunteers who run our trips & events and everyone who participates in our trips! Carl recognized the Board members attending who are integral with making sure we run smoothly as an organization and do their best to serve the interests of our members. Carl presented the St. Bernard Award to Mo and Fred for running 23 trips in 2025 and Bob Groth who has been instrumental with increasing our social media presence.
Highlight of the Evening: “Out in the Wild” by Mike Boisvert
The night’s featured presentation, “Out in the Wild: One Man’s Journey from the Closet to the Summit,” was a heartfelt highlight. Mike shared his deeply personal journey of coming out, finding resilience in nature, and building a welcoming outdoor community through GayOutdoors. His story—spanning 50 years of LGBTQ+ visibility and adventure—reminded everyone how powerful it is to find your place both in the wild and within yourself.
The Celebration Continued
Sustaining Members were entered into a raffle for REI gift cards — with $100, $50, and $25 prizes that brought lots of cheers (and maybe a little friendly envy!).
After the event, small groups headed out for dinner, drinks, and dessert at nearby restaurants, keeping the camaraderie going well into the night. As one member put it, “It’s like a family reunion where everyone actually wants to see each other!” Thank You to Our Members
A huge thank-you to everyone who made this event—and this entire season—so special. Whether you summited mountains, cleared trails, or simply showed up with a smile, you are what makes GayOutdoors thrive. Here’s to new trails, new friendships, and more adventures together in 2026!

Comment: Great job putting the end of season party together. It had a good pace with good information but not overload.
