Mt. Osceola Trip Report

The hike was held on Saturday, September 29, 2007 and we had a total of six individuals who joined us...three Steve's, two Mike's and a Marcus. It was a beautiful fall day in the lower 60's. It started out a little on the cloudy side, but cleared up as the day went on. Originally this hike was posted as an up and back to the two 4000' peaks, but was modified into a loop hike based on a suggestion from Mike B.

Around Mount St. Helens in One Day

We'd run through Windy Pass more than an hour ago on this 28-mile circumnavigation of Mount St. Helens via the Loowit Trail (link to sidebar). The only thing we'd found to be "mostly downhill" since the Pass was our spirits. By 5:30 p.m. on this late July afternoon, when we found ourselves yo-yo-ing up and down gorge after gorge, we had been running, speed hiking and scrambling for over 9 hours.

Happy Gay Campers

I watched one of those old British movies the other night, ‘Carry on Camping’. Although that’s obviously a play on words too, it did remind me of years gone by when I used to go camping. It was all cold water and very basic amenities then and it got me wondering what it would be like to go camping now. Are there specific gay campsites around the world? Where do I start if I wanted to go on a gay camping holiday? As usual when I don’t know what to do I started with a search engine search.

San Francisco Tiburon Loop Bike Ride

The Tiburon Loop bike ride is one of the most popular rides in the San Francisco area, pleasant and rolling, with very little traffic once you pass through downtown Tiburon. You can also take the ferry back from Tiburon to San Francisco, which many cyclists do on this route. The ride features maybe the craziest descent in the area, on Conzelman Road. Civilization level is high, and traffic is light except going through Sausalito and into Tiburon.
