Europe's little known gay beach resorts are getting another day in the sun, spruced up and surprisingly affordable.
So where do you go when *every* national and state park in SoCal, except one, is closed due to wildfires and/or extreme fire damage? Obviously you go to the one that's not closed. I thought that this was going to be a "closing time" hike-i.e., you've got no other options, so might as well settle. But this was actually pretty darn cool (Score! Good job Mike)
The first time you get into a canoe, it’s like the beginning of a love affair. Everything is exciting and new. You can’t get enough time together. All you want is to be alone on the water with your floating friend.
Well, its that time again... The holidays are over. Spring is here. Suddenly the gym has become crowded. More people are on the streets jogging. Dieting advertisements are rampant. It must be spring time.
Wind chills were now below zero so we put on our goggles. Any exposed flesh would put us in danger of frostbite. Visibility dropped to about 50 feet between the snow falling, blowing snow and the clouds/fog. We thought about turning around because we could no longer find the trail but saw some large rocks ahead where the hut is usually situated.
I hear it all the time by other backpackers in the group, "You backpacked by yourself? I couldn't do it." Don't you get lonely? Aren't you afraid of getting hurt and nobody being around to help? You went through all this trouble in setting up a backpacking club so people wouldn't have to backpack alone... so why would you even consider backpacking alone?

Beautiful day to be out in New Hampshire's White Mountains to hike up one the best hikes in the East over the Franconia Ridge that includes Mt. Lafayette (5260') and Mt. Lincoln (5089')! Alex, Jim, Steve, John, Bob, Markus, Jon, and myself met at the Old Bridle Path trailhead around 8:00 am.
SkiOutUtah Gay Ski Club took to the trails (Cross Country style this time) in Parley's Canyon -- at Mountain Dell Recreation Area.
I wonder if I'm turning into a nudist. I seem to enjoy the opportunities I have to get naked in the outdoors.

Beautiful day to be out in New Hampshire's White Mountains with 12 GO members!
After a scrumptious New York steak dinner the first night at our car camp site, a few folks went to bed, and some of us hung out tightly around the fire for warmth, sharing deep thoughts and some captivating stories.
On January 12, twelve GO members took advantage of the great weather and headed up to Waterville Valley, NH to hike up Mt. Tecumseh (4003').
