Summary

Join us for four days of fall foliage day hiking in beautiful Adirondack Park in late September using Lake Placid, NY as our base! Can’t do all four days, then just join us for the days that work for you. We’ll coordinate hike meet up locations and start times with participants directly.

If you need accommodations, you should book them soon. We will be staying Thursday [arrival] to Monday [departure] at a VRBO condo rental on the shore of Lake Placid! Our condo has a fully equipped kitchen, a private deck overlooking the lake and mountains and wood burning fireplace in the living room.

We plan to summit four 4,000-footers with great views. Thus, this trip is ideal for peak baggers!  We'll aim to hike ~6-12 miles with ~2,000-4,000 ft of elevation gain. Friday we’ll hike up Gothics -4,736’, 3,650 feet gain, 11.5 miles; the tenth highest in the Adirondack range, once we summit, we’ll be provided 360-degree views that will simply take our breath away. Saturday we’ll hike up Giant Mountain – 4,627’, 3,050 fee gain, 6 miles; the twelfth highest in the Adirondack range and is one of the more dramatic peaks in the park. On Sunday we’ll hike up Cascade -4,098’ and Porter -4,059’, 1,940 feet gain, 6.2 miles,  two of the easiest High Peaks to reach thanks to maintained trails and a relatively manageable hike length. The hikes are considered strenuous; we'll take breaks along the way and time to enjoy the views In addition to some great day hiking.

We’ll share the address of our condo for a BYOB Meet ‘N Greet Thursday evening. In our spare time we can stroll down Main Street with several quaint shops, hang out on our balcony/fireplace and enjoy dinner for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Dinners will be BYOB and we ask you to bring either appetizers or dessert.

If you have any questions, please email us via this site.
