Summary

Bear Notch Ski Touring Center in Bartlett, New Hampshire, is the best kept secret in the White Mountains! From the 200-year-old farmhouse base lodge, we’ll embark on an unforgettable winter adventure on more than 60 kilometers of meticulously groomed trails into the surrounding mountains. There is something for every skier, from beginner to expert. The trails vary from gentle wooded traverses to difficult mountain descents. Spectacular riverside views, pristine waterfalls and picturesque flat meadows await!

Bear Notch Ski Touring Center is also exceptionally well situated in its “own snow belt.” The staff and owners work hard to provide the most welcoming beautiful groomed trails anywhere. We’ll spend the morning on the beginner trails along the scenic Saco River, have lunch in the warming cabin [soups, fresh homemade bread and hot drinks available for purchase] and then spend the afternoon exploring the intermediate trails.

If you need to rent XC Ski equipment please arrive a half hour early so by the time we arrive at the main lodge for 10:30 AM, you are ready to GO! If this is your first time cross-country skiing, we highly recommend you sign up for a beginner class and we’ll then pick you up at the main lodge once you are finished.

Don't forget to wear warm layers [NO COTTON OR BLUE JEANS], gloves, warm hat, rain/wind shell, water, lunch, snacks, pack and anything else you would bring for a cross-country ski adventure. We will be having lunch on the trail.

The trail fee is $20. Contact us if you have any questions.

Please note that our house is a 90 minute drive from Jackson.

It’s been fun to watch the storm predictions jump around for Saturday. I still don't think the weather forecasters know what will exactly happen LOL. They just issued a winter storm warming for this area and the snow totals are now higher. It won't start snowing until noon. It will be best to minimize the driving so we will be switching the ski to Waterville Valley Nordic Center. It's a great place for nordic skiing. I have a season pass here! Should be fun!

Gtothe3 Posted Jan 26, 2022 at 12:31 PM

So when will the decision be made about this being moved to Waterville Valley due to winter storm coming in?

Gandalf Posted Jan 21, 2022 at 9:17 AM

You must call ahead to reserve a ski pass, rentals or ski lessons at 603.374.2277. Day pass is $20; seniors is $15.

Perfectamundo....and will do!!

Gandalf Posted Nov 29, 2021 at 7:51 AM

They are currently closed since Nordic Skiing has yet to begun. I would call a week ahead to make reservations for a lesson, rent equipment, and keep it the rest of the day. They should certainly be opened by then!

Gandalf Posted Nov 28, 2021 at 12:37 PM

I called the Nordic Center and they have yet to make a decision regarding renting equipment this year. They might require proof of vaccination but again, not clear if that is direction they will be going. They will rent equipment if you take a lesson and you can keep them the rest of the day.
