Summary

Join us for this moderate hike along a short segment of the Appalachian Trail that begins on NH Rt 25 in Glencliff.  This 2.5 mile trail includes a couple hills (total elevation gain 900 feet) before we arrive at scenic Wachipauka Pond, where we will have lunch.  Before or after lunch we will continue on the Wachipauka Pond Trail for 0.3 miles to a viewpoint that overlooks the pond.  We return by the same trail.

This hike is limited to 7 people so that we can practice the recommended social distancing and stay at least 6 feet away from each other.  Please bring a face covering to use while at the trailhead and when passing other hikers.

We’ll eat lunch at the pond, so bring your lunch.  Also bring or wear layers to accommodate late September temperatures.  It’s always important to bring at least 1 liter of water, rain gear, sunscreen, and bug spray.

Rain will cancel.

Directions To Trailhead Parking Lot

We will meet at the parking lot for the Wachipauka Pond Trailhead on the south side of NH Rt 25 in Glencliff (NOT the trailhead on NH 25C).  If coming from the east, the parking lot is located 4.4 miles beyond the northern junction of NH 118 and NH 25 and 0.5 miles beyond the intersection of NH 25 and High Street in Glencliff.  Turn left into parking lot.  If coming from the west, the parking lot is 9.5 miles east of the northern junction of NH Rt 10 and NH Rt 25 in Haverhill.  Turn right into parking lot.
