The Hike

Our journey begins with a scenic 2.8-mile trek along the Zealand Trail. The path meanders through lush forests, past a beaver wetland, and alongside the Zealand River. Along the way, you'll catch glimpses of Zealand Pond and be treated to stunning views of the surrounding mountains. As we near Zealand Hut, we'll take a short detour to enjoy the majestic Zealand Falls, a perfect spot for a few photos before continuing our ascent.

At Zealand Falls Hut

After a day of hiking, we'll arrive at Zealand Falls Hut, where you can relax, enjoy a delicious lunch [pack your own lunch], and unwind in the tranquil surroundings.

For those eager to explore further, there are plenty of optional activities to enjoy:

• Zealand Falls: Take a refreshing dip, soak your feet, or simply bask in the sun while overlooking the falls.
• Zeacliff Hike: For those seeking more adventure, join me for a 2.4-mile round-trip hike with stunning views of the Pemigewasset Wilderness (1,050-foot elevation gain).
• Summit Zealand Mountain: If you're up for a challenge, consider summiting Zealand Mountain (4,250 feet) with a 5.8-mile round trip (1,700-foot elevation gain) from the hut. Starting early is recommended for this longer trek, and you can check in with fellow participants to see if anyone else is interested in joining.

Dinner and Evening Fun

After a day full of hiking and exploration, a hearty, home-cooked dinner will be waiting for you at the hut. As the evening sets in, gather around for naturalist-led programs, games, and stories to enjoy some fun and socializing with fellow adventurers.

The Next Day

On Wednesday morning, we’ll wake up to a hot, satisfying breakfast. Afterward, we'll pack up and head back to the trailhead, refreshed and filled with memories of our time at Zealand Hut.
