There was perfect attendance for the trip, a great way to start the day!  Though we did have to wait for somebody to show up because they were too busy getting pulled over by the local police.  That person later said it was worth getting pulled over since the cop was cute and he didn't get a ticket.  Anyway...

We all eventually met up at Jeff's house, greeted each other, had coffee and doughnuts, and geared up.  We carpooled to the ski trail parking lot at 11:30.  There we mounted up and hit the trails around noontime.  There was about 8 inches of snow in the woods and the trails had very good cover.  There was a fine dry snow since the temperature started off in the single digits and it was sunny with dark blue skies.

Jeff had organized us in groups of three and gave each group a map.  The plan was for each group to meet back up with each other at designated markers along the route.  The problem with that was the trail was poorly marked with missing junction numbers along the way.  We all managed to stay together through the trip with one exception.  The last group of three experienced a broken ski boot very close to the beginning so one of the guys headed back to the vehicles.  The other two continued on and eventually met up with us just after we had taken a break at a shelter campsite.  At one point we came to a snowmobile trail where we organized into two groups.  One group went down the snowmobile trail which took them to the parking lot.  The other group took a ski trail which made the trip back to the parking lot about 20 minutes longer and much more challenging.  The challenging trail was narrow and windy.  It was overgrown in a few small areas and it had some really fun hills.  Many of us had a tough time staying upright and it was tricky to stay away from a few trees here and there.  Finally we got to the parking lot.  The trip was two hours and seven minutes long, not bad for planning a two hour trip.  We took a group photo shot than headed back to Jeffrey's house for dinner.

While we were on the trails Jeffrey's mom had cooked two oven bags of roast and vegetables he had set up before the trip.  Thank you mom!  We all sat down for a nice hot meal.  Oh, before the meal we all got attacked by Jeffrey's psychotic parrot which flew around a few times striking panic in all of us.  After the dinner we had casual conversation than dispersed for the evening.  W_B
