We four intrepid adventurers met up at Waterville Valley Nordic Center for a day of cross-country skiing. It was a gorgeous sunny day with temperatures in the mid-30’s. It was hard to believe that a week ago we experience 40 below wind chills!!! The Nordic Center were grooming the trails as we started the day.

Who could ask for more! The trails were wide, beautiful, and well groomed. Quite a few people on the trails enjoying this beautiful day.

Everyone was an intermediate skier that allowed us plenty of flexibility. We estimated we skied about 29 kilometers/18 miles!!! The trails network crosses many beautiful brooks to marvel at.

We skied uphill on Livermore Road and Upper Snow’s where we had lunch at the top of the ski area with spectacular views of the nearby mountains: Osceola’s, Tecumseh/ Waterville Valley Ski Area, and more. They had chairs at the top where we could move and found a sheltered area for lunch since it was windy up there.

It was a fast descent back down to the parking lot where we took another break. Richard called it a day and the three of us continued skiing to Bob’s Lookout, Lower Osceola, Moose Run and Wicked Easy. After this cardio workout we had enough for the day and headed back to our house for some après ski activities. We soaked our tired muscles in the hot tub, warmed up by the fireplace and enjoyed hardy tortellini pasta dinner prepared by Jon! A fantastic time was had by all!
