Trip Report/Photos

Great Hike! Perfect day!

We met at Appalachia at 8AM & headed up the Airline Trail.  We quickly reached treeline for awesome views & then enjoyed a leisurely lunch on the summit of Adams which was partly in the clouds.  Then we descended via the Star Lake Trail to the Madison Hut.  We decided to tag Mt. Madison since it had completely cleared up (and it was also Carl's 23rd 4000 footer)!  After tagging Madison, we returned to the hut & enjoyed interacting with the (cute) hikers there & warming up with some minestrone soup before descending rapidly on the Valley Way Trail. We took a slight detour to the Fellsway on the way down to check out the beautiful waterfalls along the trail.
