Bald Peak Hike

Trip Report/Photos from Gandalf
Jon and I wanted to do a half day hike today and decided on a 4.6-mile hike to the bare, flat summit of Bald Peak [2470 feet], a prominent spur of North Kinsman! We spotted a number of wildflowers including Canadian Mayflower, Starflower, Painted & Purple Trillium, Rose Twisted Stalk [there flowers droop down and hidden by their leaves so they are very difficult to spot], and blue violets. The trail climbed moderately under tall pines.
We enjoyed a couple of waterfalls along the way with Mossy Falls being the most pretty. On the summit we chatted with a nice couple who had a couple friendly dogs that enjoyed the doggy treats I gave them. The summit had good views of Easton Valley, Mt. Moosilauke, Black Mountain and mountains into Vermont!
We met quite a few people with their destination being Bald Peak today. Very enjoyable hike and a wonderful day. Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
