Purgatory Falls via Purgatory Brook Trl

Trip Report/Photos from GpD

Featured Photo The trail was about 5.8 miles and took approximately 3 hours to hike. I took it slow though to take in all the views. Had a great time! I went by myself, but there were a few other hikers, so I felt more at ease that people were on the trails. It's certainly a popular destination. I almost brought my trekking poles, but someone at the trailhead said they weren't needed, and they were right. It was mostly flat with some rock and root scrambling, depending on whether you want to climb things like I did. I thought the trails were well marked. A few times I was concerned that I lost my way, but as soon as I opened the AllTrails navigator and looked up, the trail marker was right in front of me, I just didn't see it. There were a few spots where the trail got really narrow with some overgrowth, but I managed fine. I used lots of deet but still managed to get two bites. Once I added more, I was mostly good from mosquitos There were so many picturesque moments. I had a great time! By the end, I did some trail running too and it felt great! Not too challenging, but still challenging enough to be fun. On the way back, one pesky fly kept trying to get me and was nosediving into my head. It was something more nefarious than a mosquito as it had some weight to it when it hit my head. I ended up running the last half mile just to get away from it, lol. All in all, it was a gorgeous day with three beautiful waterfalls and plenty of other beautiful moments. I will definitely go again! If anyone is interested in joining me on this hike next time, let me know and I'll post it as day trip.

Yeah, there were several of people in the water. Families with some kiddos. Several pups too. This is in Wilton, NH. Purgatory Falls via Purgatory Brook Trail.

Sorry for the duplicate pictures. Things went wonky on the upload and now I can't delete them. Oh well, enjoy! ??
