The weather forecast finally cooperated with sunny skies so off we went to hike up the most challenging hike in the park! It rises over 1,000 vertical feet in 0.9 miles that requires physical and mental strength! It was a rugged climb with open cliff faces and iron rungs that overall was a lot a fun! I have to admit there were a couple of sections were I had to focus…fear is the mind killer. We were rewarded by reaching the summit of Champlain Mountain with its impressive views of Frenchman Bay and distant peaks. We even could see Mt. Katahdin which we'll hiking up in two days! After the hike we went for a swim in hotel pool followed by some rockin seafood and local brews enjoyed outside on the waterfront deck. Perfect way to end a perfect day!
