Summary

We'll meet up at the Shannon Brook parking area on RT 171.  Starting with the Shannon Brook Trail, we'll use the Bald Knob cut-off trail. Here we'll see a great overlook of Lake Winnepesaukee and the Belknap Range (Gunstock) and have a lunch or snack.  After a back track on the Cut-off trail, we'll take in the Brook Trail.  There are seven waterfalls within this one mile hike   A hike back down Shannon Brook trail will bring us back to the parking lot.

The hike is 4 miles, with a top elevation of 1800'.  It will take 2-3 hours, which leaves plenty of time for a swim in Lake Winnepesaukee at the Melvin Village wharf.

Directions To Trailhead Parking Lot

Shannon Brook Trail on rt 171, 2.3 miles east of the Rt 109 junction, and just east of the entrance to Castle in the Clouds.

I will be driving a white GMC pick up.

11am.
