We will be kayaking the 7 mile loop around the small city of Wilton Manors, Florida. WIlton Manors, The Island City, is located in Broward County and is part of the Ft Lauderdale metropolitan
We will be meeting at the parking lot at Richardson Historical Park located at 1937 Wilton Dr., Wilton Manors, FL. The park and parking lot are located across from the Diary Queen.
From I-95, exit at Sunrise Blvd and drive east. Turn left at NE 4th Ave (Home Depot at the corner) The parking lot will be on your left when you cross the small bridge and enter Wilton Manors.
Five GO members kayaked seven miles around Wilton Manors. The New River, in effect, circles the core of Wilton Manors, turning the always gay friendly city into an island. The overcast weather helped cool things down a bit, but still, seven miles was a bit of a workout. Afterwards the five of us congregated at Rosie's, for a well deserved lunch and beer.
