Four or five people expressed interest in doing this hike, so let's plan on it. We'll meet at the Shea Rink parking lot and we'll hike the Skyline Ridge trail down to Rt. 28 and back
Directions to Shea Rink: From Rt. 128, get off at exit 6 in Braintree and go north on Rt. 37/Willard Street. You will see the Rink on your left in about half a mile. We'll be at the far end from the rink, by the wooded area, where the Skyline Ridge trail begins.
What was billed as the first hike of Spring in Boston's Blue Hills, turned out to be just that, a great hike on a wonderful warm spring day. Six GO members (Russ, David, Cesar, Tom, Frank, and Carlos) responded to an impromptu GO listing, and hiked for seven miles along the Skyline Ridge trail. Clear skies, and early Spring warm weather allowed for a leisurely pace, and grand views of Boston's skyline, the Harbor, and points on the South Shore. Special thanks to Mike Boisvert's new upgrades to the GO website which made it easy to send out a Trip Idea notice that generated sufficient interest to go through with this hike.
