This is a 3.5 mile (7 mile round trip) scenic trail along Eastons Bay. On one side it has excellent views of the ocean from the rugged rocky shoreline. The other side has a wide variety of mansions
We will meet at the Western section of Eastons Beach (AKA first beach) in Newport, RI. This is on Memorial Blvd which is Rt 138 A
If you are comming over the Newport Bridge (rt 138), look for the signs for rt 138 A as soon as you get off the bridge on the Newport side. Follow 138 A through downtown Newport until you reach Eastons beach on the right.
If you are comming down Rt 24, it ends and becomes W. Main road, (rt 114). follow that for about 5.8 miles.
You then make a left on Rt 214 which becomes Rt 138 A, follow it until you get to Eastons Beach.
5 of us met at first beach at 11 AM. We enjoyed the full cliffwalk in and out, to the western side of the point. The weather was great, very mild with spots of warm sun and a rainbow over the bay at the end. We finished with lunch and ice cream at the Newport Creamery.
