...We will meet at the Shark Valley entrance to The Everglades on U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail). Take the Palmetto or the Turnpike to SW 8th Street, head west and when you reach the intersection of Krome Avenue (SW 177 Avenue), zero out your speedometer and travel 17.8 miles and the entrance to the park will be on your left.
We will meet no later than 5:15 p.m. a little outside the gate to the park. You have to park outsde the park on the shoulder off the side of the road (past the string of “no parking signs”). Do not park inside the gate, it is locked at 6:00. Ride your bike into the park road just a short distance and we will meet at the first little pullout on the right, where the sign that posts entry fees is located (do not go to the entry booth, that is too far). We will leave promptly at 5:15 so if you are late just enter the park and head for the observation tower on the road on your right. You will have to pay a $5 entrance fee per bike. We will pedal at a leisurely pace; at this time of the afternoon the wild life is active and we will make stops to look at the gators, birds etc.
