Hunger Mountain is nice to hike because of the lack of development. Hunger has views of the Green Mountains to the west and Groton State Forest and the White Mountains of New Hampshire to the east.

Directions to Waterbury Trail of Mount Hunger:

From I-89 exit 10, take VT Rt 100 North (2.9 miles) to Waterbury Center, turning right on Howard Avenue.  Continue straight through a four-way intersection with a stop sign (3.2 miles), to another stop sign. Turn left on Maple Street then right on Loomis Hill Road (3.4 miles).  Continue uphill. Just after the pavement ends (5.3 miles), the road forks.  Bear left on Sweet Road and continue to the signed trailhead and parking on the right (6.7 miles).
