We will meet at Sullivans take-out restaurant, which is at the base of the old fort.

Directions: The MBTA public transportation network has multiple bus lines to City Point. Bus Line #9 departs from Copley Station (Green Line), to Broadway Station (Red Line), then onto City Point. At Farragut Road, the end of the bus line, you have to walk a moderate 3/4 of a mile to get to the castle. If driving, from South Boston just drive east on Broadway until you reach the ocean, and then take a left on the road to the island. There is a parking lot at the base of the castle.

It was a cool autumn day in South Boston. The sun was low, casting deep brilliant rays of light on the park landscape and illuminating colorful shipping containers at a nearby port.

A rather large group of GO members meet at the parking area for the Castle Island Park. Most traveled by car and some traveled by public transit. After many reunions of friends and introductions of new acquaintances we began our walk.

Our walk began on the shoreline path which led around the fort. We than walked the path around Pleasure Bay. Once we grouped back together at the parking area we made another small loop walk around the fort itself. All of the paths were paved. The weather was crisp with a light to moderate breeze, but not overwhelming.

After the walk and with several hours to spare before the Boston GO Social some members headed out for dinner and others went shopping.
