Gay Outdoors Aconcagua Expedition Is Ready To Roll

By Mike Boisvert.

We are organizing our gear.

Rest assured, we do have all the tents, cooking gear, and just about anything else you can think of.

Tonight we enjoyed a fine latin meal together.

There appears to be lots of laughter and joking.

Tomorrow (1/10) we will drive from Mendoza to Puente Del Inca, located in the heart of the Andes.

There we will prepare our final loads for the mules and begin the 3-day trek to Base Camp.

Tuesday (1/11) will be our first trekking day, about 8 miles to Pampa de Lanas in the beautiful Vacas valley with 1500 feet of elevation gain.

Wednesday (1/12) will take us to Casa Piedra, about 8 hours, and located 10,900 feet, at the confluence of the Vacas and Relinchos valleys.

Thursday (1/13) will involve our third trek day, and the most strenuous, as we turn up the Relinchos valley to Base Camp at 13,800 feet.

The next time I can update you is once we return back to Mendoza after reaching the summit; sometime late January.

Everyone sends their love to family and friends.

Ciao for now!
