New Mexico Outdoors

The New Mexico Outdoors typically schedules activities such as day hiking, mountain bike riding, campouts, southwest sight-seeing trips, river rapids trips, and horseback riding trips, just to name a few.
Most activities are free except for money for carpooling or possible entrance or admission fees to certain places/events. The New Mexico Outdoors has a monthly potluck meeting which is usually on the first Tuesday of the month. Typically around 50 people turn out for the potluck meeting. At the monthly potluck meeting a fabulous potluck starts the evening (usually starting around 7 PM) in which everyone brings their favorite salad, entree, or dessert. Following the potluck is their monthly meeting (usually starting around 8 PM) in which they talk about our previous and currently scheduled activities. They then set-up and schedule our next month's activities. This evening is very social and a great way to meet the members of the club.
Since there are no membership dues, New Mexico Outdoors does not have a monthly mailing list. All their activities are listed in the calendar section of the Out! Magazine. This magazine is available by subscription or in many Albuquerque/Santa Fe establishments.
The NMO is a great alternative to the bar scene. The members of NMO are typically down-to-earth, intelligent, established, and friendly individuals. They range in age from men and women in their 20s to their 70s. Many friendships have developed from the NMO.
