Interview with Mike Walsh
I've been outdoors for most of my life. Water sports, biking, hiking, camping.lways a magnet to me.
As a child in Canada my family camped. We had rivers, lakes and the ocean all around us. I loved both the social aspects and the solitude and beauty of it all.
Just do it. Get out and breathe the air. Stay comfortable. Do it with a friend.
Mount Sunapee in NH. It was great. I instantly made friends who have remained friends for hiking and in other parts of my life who I hope will be lifelong friends! It was a very important experience in my life.
-What don't I like? Nothing. It's always great being with people. I get a chance to safely go beyond my comfort zone and build my abilities. I like the social aspects and the exercise and the beauty of being outdoors and seeing new places.
Massachusetts is an amazing place that includes history and sacred outdoor spaces both. The Boston area honors our great history. It honors the environment with clean and well-maintained public green spaces and watercourses.
So far; the California Redwoods.
I want to test my sailing skills with an Atlantic crossing in a small sail boat (~ 40'). I'll probably crew for someone on a crossing some day.
Kick back on the Kennebacasis River in New Brunswick, Canada. Swim and hike and camp and enjoy the views on the river. It has 600' cliffs overlooking the water. Cat's paws - giant puffs of air, gently stroke the water and you can see them for many miles. It's amazing.
