Osceola's Hike ~ October 20

It will be past peak foliage and the open ledges on Osceola will offer some fantastic views on a crisp fall day. We'll start at the Greeley Pond Trail off the Kanc, follow the Mt. Osceola trail up East Osceola and then Osceola proper.

This is an in-and-out hike with a roundtrip distance of 7.6 miles and cumulative elevation gain of about 2600 ft. This puts the trip in the moderate category.

However, the trail is extremely steep in places (a section is called the "the chimney" between East O. and O.), so the hike is labeled as strenuous.

Dress according to the weather, several layers that can easily be put on and off including hat and gloves. Also bring a snack/lunch and plenty of water.

Please do not bring your dog (I am dog friendly, but the terrain is not suited for dogs).

Difficulty Level: Strenuous
