Interview with Bob.

Tell us about your outdoors experience. How much do you like participating in outdoor activities?

I have been hiking mountains and canyons since college. I have trekked in Nepal, and hiked in the Grand Canyon, Utah, Rockies, Sierra Nevada, Alaska, Hawaii, Olympic, Italian & Swiss Alps, White Mountains, St. John, and Mt. Katahdin in Maine. I enjoy camping in remote places like wilderness beaches and canyons where you can find peace and solitude,

If you knew someone who was thinking of starting to hike, what advice would you give them?

Hike smart- always be aware of the weather conditions and the forecast and be prepared for any unexpected issues.

What was your first GO excursion? How did it turn out?

The GO Boston Holiday Social.  It was a fun holiday event!

What do you like about GayOutdoors?

Describe Massachusetts to our outdoorzy members who’ve never been there? Is there a lot to do if you are an outdoor enthusiast?

Massachusetts has the Cape Cod/Provincetown which is great. It's also close proximity to New Hampshire's White Mountains for lots of hiking opportunities. Yes, lots of outdoor adventures here in New England.

What changes have you made to better our environment?

Forced a local industrial area near my home in Mass to install effective noise mitigation.

What is a memorable mountain moment?

Sitting on the deck at my house in NH watching the moon rise over the mountains.

What is your favorite day hike?

Hiking Rim to Rim in the Grand Canyon.

What is your favorite place?

Great Gulf Wilderness in the White Mountains.
