Bennett, Middle & Murphy Lakes hike

Day hike into the Murphy Lake leanto from the Creek Road parking area for lunch and some swimming and fishing. This trail passes both Bennett Lake and Middle Lake with a round trip distance of 8 miles of easy hiking. This trail is located near the Silver Lake Wilderness Area in the southern Adirondacks, not far from the starting point of the Northville-Lake Placid (N-P) Trail in Benson. The Murphy Lake trail is situated in the Town of Hope, NY.
Sounds fun
Great hike have done it many times. Bit steep and rocky washed out road at start but levels off. lean-to usually occupied.
The Rangers rerouted the trail around the steep rocky area at the start of the trail. The trail both ways is very well marked with NYS trail markers and it’s easy to find your way in and out.
