Trip Report/Photos

We started the day by waking up and getting out of bed. On our way to Waterville Valley we stopped for breakfast. We had egg sandwiches because we already did oatmeal yesterday. We reached the trailhead parking lot and met the others. There was merriment. We started the hike and faced a difficult water crossing. Despite our cries for help no one came, so we crossed on our own. We proceeded with the hike. Apparently, the person who paints the trail blazes ran out of paint, so we had to rely on our wits and skill to find our way. Eventually we found our way back from Vermont and proceeded. We reached North Peak and soaked in the views canopied with a warm sunlight. We, then continued to Jennings Peak, but by then clouds had settled in. We finally reached Sandwich Dome and by then it started to rain. We ate our lunch and proceeded with our descent. By around 1:50PM it started to rain cats and dogs. As cute as the expression may be, that can be quite painful and dangerous. When we reached the end of the trail we were soaked and had to cross the brook again. No one heard our cries for help, so we crossed on our own. It was a great day despite the weather, and I am so grateful to the participants for coming and sharing all of their positive energy. Come again!
