Two out of the five that signed up enjoyed the beautiful day and all the abuse the Berkshire could give us. As we started up the Thunderbolt Trail, it lived up to its name. With its 52+% inclines, it made the two of us winded at times. As the sun beat down, the shirts came off, and and we started glistening. As we summited Mt. Greylock, the views were amazing in all directions. We then climb up the 90' war memorial tower for some additional steps.
After a quick snack on the summit, we started down the backside to the Money Brook Trail, where we were warned there was a mama bear and her two cubs playing in a waterfall. We never did get to see them, but just knowing they were there was enough for me. As we summited Mount Prospect and Prospect Mountain, the views were very limited as they are both covered in trees. We took a lunch in a sunny spot on trail as we start to climb up again to the summit of Mt. Williams. We met a thru-hiker heading north. As we continued to the summit, which was also covered in view-blocking trees, we followed the ridge line to Mt. Fitch then back to Greylock. We took the Bellows Pipe Trail to the parking lot. I do belive Carl had just as much fun as I did.
