The Uncanoonuc Parking Lot is at 300 Mountain Road, Goffstown, NH 03045. Please note that the parking lot does fill up, so arriving a little early is encouraged.
Six GO members enjoyed a five-mile hike of South and North Uncanoonuc mountains. We were joined by guys from as far away as Boston and Stowe for this Halloween hike. Although we only had two costumes (Bob Ross and a cowgirl), the Halloween spirit was present in black and orange clothing. On the morning of the hike, the forecast narrowed to a small window of dry weather that was supposed to end midday. Knowing this, we set off for South Uncanoonuc mountain and enjoyed post-peak foliage on the trees and trails blanketed beautifully with fall leaves. After some lovely views from South Uncanoonuc, we chose to continue on to North. As we arrived at the summit of North the rain started—light then steadier. After a highly-expedited lunch, we took a shorter (though steeper) trail back to the parking lot, ending the trip around noon. Overall, it was a wonderful day with great conversations and laughs shared throughout the morning. Thanks to everyone who came out today!
