North Moat Hike (very short notice)

Difficulty Level: Moderate to Strenuous

Hike up to North Moat Mountain using the Moat Mountain Trail via Diana’s Baths.  We'll continue past the summit and take the Red Ridge Trail down.  The  summit has 360 views

Parking area (WMNF sticker/fee required) is signed on the west side of River Road, 0.7 miles north of Cathedral Ledge Road.

  • Thanks Mo for organizing this spectacular hike! It was wonderful seeing Dianas Baths and the 360 degree view from North Moat summit. But how did you coordinate with Mother Nature to pelt us with hail and a strong west wind just as we began descending the open rock face of the Red Ridge Trail? None of us panicked. Indeed, we flattered ourselves on being “manly men” as we enjoyed a nice lunch after the short shower had passed. - phoenix
