Trip Report/Photos
I like to have my Sunday hikes an easy, comfortable end to the weekends' events of camping and hiking so I planned this hike which was accessible from our campsite--no driving required.
We headed down the paved path, passed an outdoor auditorium and the campstore. We continued down and down the path all the while thinking we have to climb back on this to get home! We finally came to the Frazier Discovery trail and head up the northside of the loop trail. We climbed up--strenuous in a few places--before leveling off and coming to a concrete marker which indicate we met up with the Appalachian Trail. We jumped on that and it was a more relaxing climb back up to the campstore and then our campsite. Since we were all packed to go we headed to the RV dumpstation to take care of the tanks and head home with very dark clouds overhead looking as if the heavens would open up to say "goodbye", but it was just a light shower.
