hiking guide moe said these are two of the most remote peaks in the catskills and he was not wrong. it's about and 11 mile lollipop following the unmarked fisherman's path for much of the way along the pretty neversink river. it was a long day but i completely lost track of the time. the trail, the river, the woods were all so picturesque the time flew by. and the gorgeous weather did not hurt either. these peaks are not known for their views but moe knew a side trail off the summit of rocky that led to a viewpoint that's up there with the best in the catskills.

these were numbers 29 and 30 (out of 33 peaks over 3500 feet).  i'm planning to knock off the final three when i tack the devil's path in early july -- wish me luck!
