I normally hike to the south peak, but decided to hike to the north peak for a change.  The views aren't as good, but the hike is longer and this hike has more actual trail hiking as opposed to roads and ski slopes.  There was also road walking, but nice sections of trail in the shade as well.

My route followed the Intl. Appalachian Trail, which isn't nearly as popular as the Appalachian Trail.

The elevation of the north peak of Mars Hill is 1,595 ft.  The hike was easy to moderate.  The elevation gain was around 975 ft.  My total mileage was around 4.5 miles.  I wandered around a bit.  My total time was 2.75 hours.  I was completely alone on this hike.  It was a warm day with temps. in the mid 80's and a little humid.
