TRUE FACT -- Ranked by USA Today's Readers’ Choice as the best Cross-Country Ski Resort on the East Coast, the Waterville Valley Adventure Center is the Nordic ski hub of the Northeast.

We are lucky to have world class nordic trails close to home in NH!  With that being noted - layer up, pack a lunch, gas up the vehicle and head out for a breath of fresh crisp invigorating mountain air.  Yahoo

Mike and I hit the trail system on a mellow Thursday, the day after the Polar Vortex left the area.  It was a balmy 20 degrees with sun light streaming down creating a lattice work of shadows on the groomed curduroy.

CONDITIONS - The trail was 5 star mint - lightning fast firm surface with an effortless glide.

HINT GO HERE - the North End of the nordic system is a snow bowl.  Mother nature blesses this area with massive snow dumps.  The white gold is in abundance right now - so don't delay and drive up!

We only saw 8 people all day.  There was one lady that stood out - a grandmother type flying by us.  You have to admire someone older than you by 20 years going faster and harder.  Impressive - I say!  GO GRANNY!

After immersing body and mind in the repetition of kick, glide and propel, a happy state of bliss was achieved.  Mount Osceola bestowed great hospitality with abundant sunshine, crips invigorating air and the perfect crunchy squeaky at times snow.

ODD OBSERVATION - The snow sounded like a bunch of seagulls when a pole point impacted and pulled away from it - a wierd a by-product of ultra-low humidity and below zero nights.

CONCLUSION -  Get your groove on and head north for a rip roaring nordic inspired athletic oxygen infused time in the deep woods.  Don't let Granny have these trails all to herself and upstage us younger folks.  LOL
