Having stopped in Concord, NH for the night on January 6, I awoke to around six inches of newly fallen powdery snow on the 7th.  Hurrah!  After consulting with our friend Google, I paid a visit to Bear Brook State Park before continuing my journey north.  Just a 25 minute drive southeast of Concord, I turned off of Deerfield Road onto Podunk Road into the park.  I gladly paid the requested donation and found plenty of parking.  I then spent two hours exploring some of the trails and unplowed roadways in the park.  The snow-covered trees coupled with the muffled silence of newly fallen snow made for a beautiful experience.                               Bear Brook should be great for skiing this weekend and upcoming week with all the snow that is currently falling in New England as I type this report!
