Shawnee State Park near Schellsburg PA is well worth experiencing.  I was there for three nights with a friend and we had an enjoyable time. Nobody else from GO attended, but that was not surprising given the spur of the moment, the season and that I was there during the week. Park facilities are clean and well maintained. Campsites are spacious. There are many places to hike and there is a large lake with a natural shoreline. The surrounding countryside is beautiful Pennsylvania at its best.
