Summary
OVERVIEW:
Join Rich and Greg for a scenic, moderate hike in the Hudson Highlands. This Sundance and GayOutdoors joint hike is a 7-mi hike from the Cold Spring Metro North train station through Nelsonville to the Lone Start trail, along the Washburn trail and down the Cornish trail. Total elevation is approx. 1100 ft. An option to sit and have a refreshment together before getting on the return train will be available. Rich will be accompanied by his companion dog, Chester. Wear your halloween costume or gay colors to celebrate!
Rain date will be November 11.

HIKE BEGINS: 9:30 AM at the Cold Spring Metro North Train Station.
TRANSPORTATION:
Public Transportation: Take the 7:50 AM Metro North Poughkeepsie train from Grand Central Station to Cold Spring which arrives at 9:14 AM.
Drivers: Park at one of the parking lots around 41.415272, -73.951862
Return will be via the 3:20 PM or 4:20 PM Metro North Train back to Grand Central Station.
PREPARATION:
Hiking boots, gloves, trekking poles, non-cotton base layer and good insulation. A hearty lunch, snacks, 2L water and a pad for sitting on rocks for lunch.
FITNESS:
This hike is suitable for experienced, injury-free and recent hikers who have the endurance for a 7-mile hike at a pace of 1.5 mph.
