Mount Chocorua is calling. This is a great hike with spectacular views. The hike is a loop - slightly under 9 miles. Starting at the Piper Trailhead we will take the following trails
Use the "get directions" link in AllTrails or follow these directions:
From points south to the Piper Trailhead: Heading north on Route 16 – Davies Campground and General Store (located on the left just before Moulton Drive) is roughly 5 miles from where Route 16 and 113 cross in ALbany, NH. From points North to the Piper Trailhead: Heading south on Route 16 – Davies Campground and General Store (located on the right just after Moulton Drive) is 6.1 miles from where Route 16 and 112 (Kancamagus Highway) cross in Albany, NH. https://www.google.com/maps/@43.9405179,-71.229838,15z
It was a great day for a hike, sunny, warm, with a dry trail and no bugs to speak off (except for Fred who is a bug magnet). It's a great hike with varied terrain.
Three of us did the loop to the Middle Sister summit - Fred went up the Piper Trail and meet us at Middle Sister (or should I say we meet him there since he was waiting for us to arrive). After a break enjoying the views - we all continued to Chocorua. Lunch time with gorgeous 360 views !!!
We continued our loop hike down Liberty, Hammond and the Weetamoo (one of my favorite trails).
It was Alexander's first time up to Chocorua - think he really, really liked it.
