Last Minute Downhill Mountain Biking

I've decided to do downhill mountain biking and thought I would open this up as a last-minute group event.

Powder Ridge is the ski mountain in Middlefield, and this is the second year for fall

Driving directions to the location and spot to meet at:

Powder Ridge is at 99 Powder Hill Rd.

From I-91 South, take Exit 19 and turn Left at the end of the ramp onto Baldwin Avenue. Continue onto Preston Avenue. After 1.2 miles, turn Left onto East Main Street, and then take the ramp onto Route 66 East. In about .75 miles, turn Right onto Route 147. Go 1.7 miles and turn Right onto Powder Hill Road. After about .5 miles, turn Right into Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort.

From I-91 North, take Exit 15 to Route 68 toward Yalesville/Durham. At the end of the ramp, take a Right onto Route 68 East. Go about 2.6 miles and turn Left on Route 157 North (Reeds Gap Road). Go about .2 miles and take the first Left onto Powder Hill Road. After about 1.9 miles, turn Left into Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort.

From Route 66 West (Middletown area), turn Left onto Route 147 after you pass the Mount Higby Reservoir. Go 1.7 miles and turn Right onto Powder Street and Powder Hill Road. After about .5 miles, turn Right into Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort.

We will meet in the rental building after everyone has gotten their gear.


Trip Report/Photos

Downhill mountain biking was a lot of fun.  And although I did not get any other GO members to join, I did find two very nice guys to bike down the mountain several times with.  Hope to do this again and give people more notice next time!
