New Mexico 5-Day Mountain Nature Retreat
08/11/2026 Region: Southwest Activity Type: Hiking/Walk Place: Sheffield, MA
Let's gather in Santa Fe, NM & travel an hour to Pecos and stay at the Alamitos Canyon Retreat Lodge on 150 acres of private land surrounded by Santa Fe National Forest 8500' in elevation. We will stay in the lodge or camp (depending on number of participants), daily scenic intermediate hiking, historic monuments, Pecos River trails, men's gatherings (yoga, meditation, council circles) and cook meals together. Lodge is off grid with solar & sophisticated water catchment system. Located in the ancient land of Pecos, New Mexico, the retreat is surrounded by mountains filled with Ponderosa Pine, Piñon and Juniper trees. The off-grid retreat property is secluded on just over 150 acres surrounded on all sides by Pecos National Wilderness and Santa Fe National Forest and is 22 miles east of Santa Fe and 85 miles NE of Albuquerque. Below runs the Pecos River and the ancestral (Cicuye) Pueblo standing as a meaningful reminder of people who once lived here. The immersion into this private and natural environment completely detoxifies and balances the soul and senses. The breezes through the pine needles capture a calming sound like no other, while the aroma from the variety of plants and trees soothes. The sun shines most every day with a low humidity average temperature of 85° dropping 10-15° in the evenings. *Limited to 12 participants
This event is at my new retreat center launching summer 2026. There is no cost for accommodation for this gathering (responsible for food & travel expenses). *Will send details upon inquiry.
Sounds like a nice trip. I've been curious to try out New Mexico.
Pecos is a nice area with lots of hiking and history.
