This will be about a 9.5 hike on the AT in southern North Carolina. The hike will be north to south and will take about 7 hours to complete. My book," Exploring the Appalachian Trail" calls
Meeting place for this hike is the Huddle House in Franklin. It is located at the corner of US 441 and Allman Drive. The address should be 361 Georgia Road (US441).
The Huddle House is just south of the US 64 an US 441 interchange.
If traveling from the east or the west, US 64 runs thorugh Franklin.
If traveling from the north or south, USS 441 runs through Franklin.
There were 4 people on the hike. Two, of which, were not part of GO. We had great weather for this hike on National Naked Hiking Day. There were a couple of nice views to go along with the nice weather. The 9.5 mile hike had an evelation gain of 2091 ft. and took 5 hours and 15 minutes.
It was a clothing optional hike.
