Trip Report/Photos

4 of us met in Asheville and the 5th joined us at the trailhead - we hiked a section of the Mountain to Sea Trail south of Pisgah Inn that was gorgeous - trail needed a bit of minor maintenance with some growth of weeds narrowing the trail to 1 slim person on occasion and there were a few spots where the native bushes and low growing trees meant one had to duck a bit but in the 6 miles hiked there were no other folks on the trail so it was never even necessary to cover when meeting folks.  Sorry no pics as a couple of the hikers had late afternoon appointments they wanted to get to so stopping for pics was not possible - hopefully next time.  The day itself was perfect - low to mid 70's, a nice breeze, no humidity - probably won't see too many more of those till fall in the mountains south of Asheville.  The fellows who were on the hike loved it and will look forward to more over the summer - I personally try to get 1 or 2 naked hikes in each week.  I hike Monday to Thursday, federal land only away from populated areas and tourist locations.  If interested in hiking, contact me as some opportunities come at the last minute and there is not time to post.  2 great upcoming hikes are posted for June 21st and 22nd - sign up!!!

  • What a spectacular day for a naked hike - 5 of us did about 6 miles, all but the 1st and last 100 feet or so naked. Sorry no pics - maybe next time :) Temps in the 70's and no humidity and a gorgeous blue sky. - edfarthing
