We will meet at 10am at the picnic tables outside the park headquarters building at 695 Hillside Street, Milton. Directions (from all points north, south, east or west): take exit 3 on I93 (Houghton's Pond / Ponkapoag Trail exit). Follow the road north from the highway for 1/2 mile until you reach a T-intersection. At the stop sign take a right onto Hillside Street. About 1/4 mile on the right is a large parking lot at Houghton's Pond. Park here and walk further down Hillside Street, about another 1/4 mile, to park headquarters.
Our hike in the Blue Hills could not have gone better. The weather was good - a mix of overcast and sunny skies with moderate temperatures. The route was challenging, with lots of climbing and some tricky footing, but the hikers put in a great effort and kept their spirits high throughout. The hilltop vistas were very rewarding.
