Rock N River Lodge
By Mike Boisvert.
Our lodge is a bit different. We specifically welcome gay, bisexual and straight outdoorzy guys.
Directions
Take I-93 North and take Exit 28 (Waterville Valley). Bear right at the end of the ramp (Rte. 49 East). Follow this road for 3.5 miles and take a left when you reach Burbank Hill Road (right before the bridge crossing the Mad River; there is also a Goose Hollow Campground sign as you turn left). Go up the steep hill and take your first right onto Upper Mad River Road (hiker sign). After 1/2 mile you'll see a post on your right that says "GO 676." We don't have much parking space beside the lodge so you'll have go park at the top of the driveway and carry/walk your gear down the driveway. Park your car "head-in" to allow the other cars to fit in.
Accomodations
The bunks already have linen, blankets, pillows and we have towels for you to take your shower. We provide a 'help yourself' breakfast in the morning that includes cereal, bagels, waffles, orange juice and coffee/tea. You can store beverages and anything that needs refrigeration in the fridge; you can use any dishes, utensils, pots/pans, etc; and feel free to use the stove/microwave.
There are 2 common bathrooms, a full self-service kitchen, dining/living room with fireplace and deck. Our loft has a big screen TV/home theater system. Downstairs off the library are two bunkrooms with 4 beds each. The self-service kitchen has a refridgerator, stove, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. Our deck has chairs to enjoy the view and a gas grill. We are on the Mad River so sunbathing/soaking is only a few minutes walk away.
Please Keep the Lodge Clean
To keep the house clean, I ask that you remove your shoes upon entering. Some people bring slippers. I also have a cat so I hope you are not allergic. Please remove the bed linen and leave the bunks stripped. Then place the linen and used towels in the washer.
Rates
We charge $25 per night/per person.
Apres Trip Party
It's all about the Apres Trip Party! We share beer, snacks, laugh, tell stories, and learn more about each other. It's a great time to make new buddies and one of the highlights of the trip. Anyone who participates in the event is welcome to take a shower at the Rock N River Lodge afterwards and join us for our Apres-Trip Party. We can stop by a convenience store to grab some beer and snacks.
Those staying at the lodge will begin discussing dinner plans and even if you are not spending the night, you are welcome to join us. Dinner options range from ordering pizza, eating out at a nearby restaurant or driving to the local convenience store for grocery shopping and cooking dinner.
