Trip Report/Photos

thanks to all the great guys who came this weekend- your company was enjoyed and efforts appreciated. i felt badly for those who came while we were off tubing the green river and you had waited for us- your presence was missed along with all of the other men who expressed interest and were unable to join us this time also. despite our sometimes obnoxious neighbors, the campsite and grounds pretty much fulfilled our small groups needs and we were able to unwind, relax, and enjoy the camaraderie in some beautiful nature. tubing was a blast! being at the rivers mercy hadn't allowed us all to remain together at all times but had provided just the right amounts of lazily floating relaxation and exhilaration of rapids and obstacles too. even john's epic wipe out in the rapids which dislocated his shoulder hadn't been able to dampen the great time in the river. after tubing and lunch, some of us took a couple mile hike through the gamelands to cove creek while some stayed at the site to chill. the full day of sun and fun led to an earlier evening around the campfire and deeper slumber. sunday, after leaving the campground we all met back up at fishtop falls for some hiking, rock-hopping, swimming, and sun bathing which was a perfect end to a great weekend outdoors. the old friends were great to see again, the current friends were amazing to spend more time with, and the brand new friends were a pleasure to get to know more. all the nice fellas i talked to who wished to come but were unable to i hope to hear more from and look forward to meeting another time. thanks for sharing in a wonderful weekend outdoors together!!!

  • Awesome time on the river! Thanks for posting Chan. We could do so many more NC trips, where is everyone. Nothing like running rapids in an innertube! Peace=Markmtn - markmtn
