Warm weather, clear-to-cloudy skies and 75+ guys from near and far joined us for the 6^th annual Frog Meadow BBQ/Garden Party/Fundraiser to benefit Aids Project of Southern VT & Green Mountain Crossroads in association with Tri-State Gay Men. Though only a few “officially” signed up for the event, there were approximately 15+ Goers in attendance, many familiar faces from last years’ event.

Despite an ominous weather forecast that put a damper on attendance when compared to last year’s event count of 120+ attendees, the event was a huge success, raising over $4,000. This represents our best fundraising effort yet and a significant lift over 2012 – largely as result of the format change to a potluck meal which dramatically helped to reduce the event’s overhead expenses. That said, there was sufficient smoked pork, Italian sausages, Asian chicken thighs and roast pork loins for all to enjoy plus tons of appetizers, side dishes and desserts to make for a bounteous feast!

There were many great raffle prizes won, including Double-Wide Rocker Adirondack Chair, Beacon Light Guesthouse Provincetown Lodging Voucher, Inn at Mount Snow weekend, One night’s Stay for 2 at Moose Meadow Lodge, Waterbury VT, a combination Massage & Acupuncture session, Aunt Sadie’s Candles Premium Seasonal Gift Basket, Mountainside Camping Weekend for 2, Renaissance Fine Jewelry $100 Gift Certificate, and four Gay Outdoors 1-year paid membership. Thanks to all our event and raffle sponsors for their support!

We are all grateful for the efforts of Aids Project of Southern VT & Green Mountain Crossroads in association with Tri-State Gay Men to support the local gay, bi and questioning male community and the very important work of HIV education, prevention and services provided to those with HIV.

Thanks as well to all who participated and to all the day-of-event volunteers for their continued support! We hope to see many and more of you at next years’ event on Saturday 7/19!
