Meeting at 10AM at this entrance of the Columbia Trail in Long Valley, NJ.  We will take the trail up a couple miles and then head back. Afterwards those of us that wish to join in for lunch

Get to Rte 206 in NJ and head towards Chester, NJ:
From 206 North, turn left at Rt 24 in Chester. Follow into Long Valley and turn right onto Schooley's Mountain Road (also known as Rte 517/Old Rte 24) . Less than a half mile up, there is a trailhead parking area on the left, with the trail leading off into the woods from there.
From Rte 206 South,  turn right at Rt 24 in Chester. Follow into Long Valley and turn right onto Schooley's Mountain Road (also known as Rte 517/Old Rte 24). Less than a half mile up, there is a trailhead parking area on the left, with the trail leading off into the woods from there.

From Hackettstown, are go right down Rte 517/Schoolys Mt. Rd. to the trail entrance on the right.

From Hunterdon County/west NJ heading East. Take Rte 512 to Long Valley turn left onto Schooley's Mountain Road (also known as Rte 517/Old Rte 24). Less than a half mile up, there is a trailhead parking area on the left, with the trail leading off into the woods from there.

Super group of friendly guys, great weather with lots of sun n blue skies. Hiked for about 2.5 hrs, then headed to lunch at the Long Valley Brewery.  Saw wild life (birds, snakes, deer, etc). Let's do it again soon! If you have not been hiking with us, come join in soon.
