We gathered at Frog Meadow Farm B&B in Southern VT for cozy fireside drinks on Friday night and to meet other B&B guests (some of who turned out to be GO members!) who were at Frog Meadow for their “Farewell to Winter” themed Weekend.

On Saturday following a hearty breakfast Mike, Jesus and Rob snow shoed on Frog Meadow’s trail network, much of which still had over 15 inches of spring snow! Lee & Sean got massages from Dave and checked out nearby Grafton Ponds XC ski area for tubing. Randy worked out in the gym and hiked the grounds while Marco & Jason hiked many of the nearby old farm roads that were already cleared of snow and were suitable for hiking. John went skiing at Mount Snow and had beautiful “mashed potato” spring conditions. Later that day, everybody enjoyed the wood-fired Hot Tub and time to further relax and enjoy each other’s company.

On Saturday evening there was another fireside social mixer with drinks & snacks, more good cheer and GO camaraderie. Dave prepared a tasty family-style localvore dinner of turkey chili, cornbread and cinnamon raisin bread pudding. All of us were well-stuffed and following dinner all retired to the living room’s TV and watched Mark Wahlberg in “The Fighter”.

Considering (despite?) the unseasonably lame weather of this winter, everyone had a fun time and we could not have been happier with our visit to Frog Meadow and Dave & Scott’s hospitality.

We plan to be back next winter to further explore the other on-property recreational opportunities on Frog Meadow’s 63 wooded acres well as the surrounding area. Until then…!
