Directions to Rainbow Mt. Gay Resort

If you are using your GPS, it will bring you in the back way (A.1., below). It may tell you that you are here when you are actually sitting in front of Foxwood Family Campground. You are on the right road (Mount Nebo), heading in the right direction, you just need to continue for another 2 miles (through one stop sign).

Longitude: -75.11078417301178; Latitude: 41.04389856609376 The map is a not-to-scale drawing of the final common pathway.

A. From Route 80, heading East or West:
1. THE BACK WAY (RED Route above) IS THE BEST WAY, TO AVOID MARSHALLS CREEK AND FLEA MARKET TRAFFIC: Take exit 309 (Marshalls Creek); the exit only lets you go one way, so follow the exit on to Route 209 North; you will immediately go through a traffic light; in 1 mile, you will come to a second traffic, where you turn right on to Buttermilk Falls Road; drive 1/2 mile up a small hill and a blue Rainbow Mountain Resort directional sign indicates where you should turn left on to Mount Nebo Road; carefully drive 3 and 1/2 winding miles (through one stop sign) and the Lobby is on the left.

2. NOT RECOMENDED (can be LOTS of traffic!) THE FRONT WAY THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF MARSHALLS CREEK (BLUE Route above): Take exit 309 (Marshalls Creek); the exit only lets you go one way, so follow the exit on to Route 209 North; you will immediately go through your first traffic light; 4 miles later, you will come to your third traffic light (a T-intersection); make a right at this third traffic light (you are still on Route 209 North); at the second traffic light, turn right on to Mount Nebo Road; drive 1 and 1/2 miles up the hill and the Lobby is on the right

B. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (approximately a 45-minute drive): take Route 380 East to Route 80 East to exit 309 (Marshalls Creek). Go to directions A, above

C. Allentown/Bethlehem (approximately a 45-minute drive): take Route 22 East to Route 33 North; take Route 33 North to Route 209 North; stay on Route 209 North as it merges with Route 80 East; take exit 309 (Marshalls Creek). Go to directions A or B, above

D. New Hope , PA (approximately a 1-hour drive)

1. Take Route 32 North to Route 611 North; take Route 611 north to Route 80 West; stay on Route 80 West until you go over the Delaware Water Gap Bridge into Pennsylvania; take the second exit (exit 309, Marshalls Creek). Go to directions A or B, above

2. The first option (Routes 32 and 611) is scenic (it takes you right along the river), but slow and often plagued with detours. An alternate route is to take Route 202 North to Route 31 North to Route 46 West to Route 80 West; stay on Route 80 West until you go over the Delaware Water Gap Bridge into Pennsylvania; take the second exit (exit 309, Marshalls Creek). East Upstate New York: take Route 84 West into Pennsylvania, then take Route 209 South; stay on Route 209 South through the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area into Marshalls Creek; watch for the Four Seasons Diner and a large Exxon Station on your left; make a left turn at the traffic light after the Exxon Station on to Mount Nebo Road; drive 1 and 1/2 miles up the hill and the Lobby is on the right (if you get to the Wendy's on your left, you missed the turn)

G. West Upstate New York: take Route 81 South into Pennsylvania;stay on Route 81 South until Scranton; then take Route 380 East. Go to directions B, above
