10AM meet in front of  the Del. Water Gap Kittatiny Pt. Visitors Center (NJ side of river) on Rte 80,  which is the parking lot over near the river side of Rte

...
Driving directions to the location and spot to meet at:
The NEW (Kittatiny Pt.) visitors center is right off rte 80. If heading West in NJ, toward Pennsylvania, it is just before Del. River/crossing over to PA. If coming from PA and heading East, it is just after you cross  the river and enter NJ.  The visitor center is over near the river side. Meet us over in that parking lot in front of the NEW Visitors Center, NOT the parking lot over near the base of the mountain.  I will email my cell number to all those that sign up for this hike, just in case you  need to call.
NOTE: While on Rte. 80 look for the exit that says Dunfield Creek as it isn't well marked ... if you happen to pass it up,  you will then see a sign for a toll, so in this case, DON'T go over the river, just make sure  to get off at next exit BEFORE the bridge in that case. Then make a quick left at end of the ramp, that will take you back to the parking area at the Visitors Center

Everyone who signed up for the Van Campens Glen Trail in NJ showed up. A few folks were running late however and the signs in the area are not marked well. Had a mix of hikers, from the super experienced long haul hiker to those used to more board walk type hiking. Beautiful area, however due to recent rains, the trails were quite slippery and moss covered in the rocky areas. One part of the trail at the beginning had a HUGE tree blocking the trail and some climbed over it, others went up and down the very slippery/muddy hill to get around it. On the way back one hiker slid down the hill and got scratched up. I myself also ran my leg into a large sharp rock and got a deep cut. However, one hiker was very prepared with 1st aid items. THANK YOU soooo much. I have to get one of these for sure for all such future hikes. Great idea. In all, we all had a good time, met new people, and saw some wonderful sites of large moss covered rock formations, fast running creeks, etc.. At the end, 4 of us took a trip further north at the Del Water Gap to the Buttermilk Falls and then crossed over the Del River into PA to visit some other falls. We ended the day with a wonderful meal at the Gay resort, Rainbow Mt. in the Pocono’s. Thanks to all who attended. Hope to see everyone soon! Come join us at the next event. I will be hosting one in July (perhaps Stickley Museum), and another new member in this area is also hosting an event that month as well (A picnic at his one along the Del. River).
